Future Ticketing

The GAA scene was once a sector where fans walked up to events and paid on the day however Covid-19 changed this.

Looking for a cashless entry, pay in advance solution – Tipperary GAA joined forces with Future Ticketing to ticket their county hurling and football championships.

Throughout the 2020 season, entry to all club matches were ticket-only with maximum attendances set in accordance with Government guidelines of 200. This was a massive shift in how GAA counties managed their ticketing for club games however both clubs and customers were quick to adapt to technology to provide a safe and secure experience for both fan and player.

Using priority links, season ticket holders were able to log onto the Tipperary GAA website on a weekly basis and claim tickets for the particular games they wanted to attend free of charge using their season ticket barcode.

Each club had also access to handheld mobile scanners which recorded live the number of fans that were scanned into each venue. Which allowed Tipperary GAA to see live scanning figures of all venues in real time without being present.

Data protection

All data will be controlled by Tipperary GAA in line with data protection laws, creating a closer connection with Tipperary GAA and their fan. Tipperary GAA now have access to their customer data like never before as customers simply walked up and paid on the day.

“Future Ticketing has transformed how we sell tickets at Punchestown. Since using the platform, we have sold to thousands of new customers, significantly reduced our administration costs, generated substantial cash-flow with over 82,000 pre-sold tickets and eliminated fraud issues. Importantly, we now provide a better ticketing and event experience for our customers.”

Dick O’Sullivan, President of Punchestown Racecourse

Punchestown Racecourse is regarded as the ‘Home’ of Irish national hunt horseracing, attracting over 200,000 visitors per annum including the prestigious five-day Festival each spring.

In 2014, as part of efforts to modernise its offering to its customers, Punchestown sought a new flexible ticketing system capable of fulfilling a range of demands including a solution that could enable digital sales, increase ticket sales from mobile, eliminate fraud and facilitate quick access for large attendances at multiple locations around the racetrack.

Future Ticketing provided a customised and branded solution for Punchestown that enabled digital ticket purchase in four easy steps, facilitated flexible ticketing for multi-day festivals and provided seamless management access control at a speed of up to 60 entries per second.

In addition, management had full control to change products and events instantly, monitor sales and access control in real time. Importantly, Future Ticketing enables data capture for analytics and because Punchestown has a propriertary right to the data it is now able to build a database suitable for analytics and to develop a branded relationship with its customers via ticketing.

Future Ticketing is the digital partner of choice for Ireland’s largest racing events including the Iconic Galway Races; the Listowel Racing Festival in September; The Curragh the home of the classics, and a growing number of other Irish racecourses including Ballinrobe, Dundalk, Down Royal, Downpatrick, Gowran Park, Kilbeggan, Limerick, Naas and Tramore.
